First, the confession. I am admittedly an amateur at the harmonica. I can’t play the blues; I can’t play country; In high school I played the drums and I really don’t have much musical talent.

However, I do enjoy good music and love to be able to make good music, and that is the great thing about the harmonica. I’m being unduly harsh on myself saying that I don’t have any musical talent, but even if that were entirely true the harmonica makes music accessible to all people. It’s portable, inexpensive and easy to play (though extremely difficult to master).

This book is the result of four years of on-again-off-again work and has become a constant companion for me whether in the car waiting on my lunch break or sitting at home with the kids. It (and my harmonica) can go with me anywhere. I hope you enjoy the book, and look forward to your feedback.
